In the delicate coastal forests of New Zealand, Sherwood developed both engineering and ecological master plans at the 650-acre site of Butterfly Bay. We were responsible for complete site development and parceling of grounds for residential quarters, spa facilities and conservation land. We created custom solutions to address challenging aspects of the project, which included designing around environmental constraints unique to the region, the need to preserve marine ecology during construction, as well as other sensitive cultural, historical, and archeological factors. Sherwood engineered an ecological restoration plan and designed building sites and utilities infrastructure that emphasize the aesthetic appeal adjacent to the famous butterfly breeding ground.
