A beautiful new trail, overlook, pedestrian bridge and watershed restoration project has emerged on the northern edge of San Francisco. Sherwood worked closely with Marta Fry Landscape Associates and the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to implement phases of the Presidio Coastal Trail. Pedestrians are able to ride, hike or stroll from the east side of the Toll Plaza under the bridge into the historic military batteries dating back to the Civil War. This project also includes a new pedestrian bridge spanning the WWII batteries, bridging two important segments of the entire planned multiuse trail. Slated next is the second half of the trail network leading to Baker Beach.
