Guangzhou Urban Redevelopment Master Plan

In conjunction with a world-class team of designers, including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Hargreaves Associates, Sherwood collaborated on this large-scale urban redevelopment master plan in China’s rapidly growing Baietan Urban Area located on the banks of the Pearl River.

Sherwood worked with the design team to develop a comprehensive sustainable infrastructure plan for the historic and rapidly evolving city of Guangzhou. Infrastructure elements included potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater, power, gas, telecommunications, and solid waste. In addition, we developed a comprehensive stormwater management and flood control plan to mitigate extensive flooding hazards and sea level rise scenarios, improve severely deteriorated water quality, and resuscitate local ecosystems.
