St. Kitts Island Resort

Sherwood designed all civil engineering aspects of this project including roads, siting for homes and facilities, sustainable water system and infrastructure on this pristine Caribbean island. The 2,100-acre site lies in an arid region with limited municipal water supply, and no land-based potable water resources. We developed several potential solutions for water harvesting and recycling, and helped determine the feasibility of proposed development scenarios from an ecological and sustainable building perspective. Our team also developed alternatives for energy generation and distribution throughout this completely self-sufficient site. Additionally, we authored a binding document of Sustainable Development Standards to be used for our project site as well as the entire 5,000-acre peninsula.
